#1 The house should consist of a lot of open space for the free flow of wind. Larger open space in the east direction is recommended. It ensures fresh air and constant sunlight in the morning. The open space at the north-west and south-east should be equal.
#2 Buying old houses is not prohibited in Vastu Shastra. It recommends the first thing to be done with old houses is to get them painted.
#3 People believe that house should not be constructed under the shadow of a tree. Vastu Shastra says nothing about the shadow of trees. One is free to plant them wherever they feel like. Trees encourage the flow of fresh air around the house.
#4 Artificial plants should not be used to decorate the house. Doorbells with pleasant rings bring positivity.
#5 Plants like cactus and other shrubs are not recommended inside the house.
#6 It is a constraint of Vastu Pooja whenever inaugurating the new house. But, yet there Vastu Shastra encourages no concept of pooja. Since it is the science of architecture and works on pure logic of flow of positivity.
#7 The corners of the house should be kept clean and bright. Every part of the house encourages the flow of air. People often seem to care about the parts that are clearly visible and forget about the corners. So, Vastu Shastra makes it a point to keep them clean and bright.
#8 Soothing colors and furnishings that are soft should be there in the bedroom. Happy pictures of the couple should be hung on the walls.
#9 Mirror just in front or side of the bed is not recommended. Reflection of the people in bed brings bad dreams. One should not keep the television in the bedroom.
#10 The main hall of the house should consist of happy family photos. There should not be sharp or edgy furniture in the hall. The main door of the house should be uniquely decorated to attract wealth.
#11 The doors of toilets and bathrooms should be kept closed most of the time. Washroom should not be facing the main door to hall. It should also not be present at the entrance of the house. This type of arrangement of washroom drains positive energy before entering the house. So, it is not recommended.
#12 Kitchen must not consist of mirror and mops or brooms. The house dining should not be facing the entrance of the house. Sink and taps should be kept away from the gas stove.
#13 Vastu Shastra recommends office along with the back wall. Offices are not recommended to be attached to bedrooms.
#14 Office and main entrance must not be in immediate contact with each other. In fact, people with high business positions are found to have offices away from the entrance.
#15 Sitting crossed-legged at work is not considered progressive. Chairs with high back and arm-rest are recommended. Vastu Shastra recommends sitting straight.
#16 The tables at work or in the office should have round corners. Sharp or edgy corners should be avoided. In the conference-hall, make sure to sit away from the entrance. It helps in keeping away from disturbances.
#17 Fresh flowers should be kept on the office desk. Flowers with buds bring more positivity since they describe beginnings. Green plants can also be kept in the office. Greenery is believed to bring energy.
#18 Office should be well lit. Wires of various appliances and gadgets should not be visible.
#19 Cash locker or safe should face mirror directly in such a way that the mirror reflects cash container. This is believed to help in increasing wealth.
#20 The doors of the office should be free of any obstacles near or front of it. Vastu encourages to keep the central part as open space or free of any furniture.
